Halal Certification Programme

The halal certification programme proves through independent audit that products and production processes conform to halal requirements. The product list stays attached to the certificate and is updated when a raw material changes.

The audit examines sources of raw materials and additives, cross-contamination risk on lines and labelling practices. The certificate is valid for one year and renewed every year.

• At least one unannounced visit a year
• Obligation to appoint a halal officer
• A joint audit with ISO 22000 can be run

The first step for admission to the programme is to declare the product list and raw material specifications; the audit duration and fee are stated in writing after a preliminary assessment.
