Halal audit and certification covering the production chain from raw material to shelf life.
Quote on application
Halal certification shows, through independent audit, that a product or service meets halal requirements. It matters to food, packaging, cosmetics and pharmaceutical excipient makers who export to Islamic countries and to Muslim consumer markets in Europe.
How is the audit carried out?
- Source and content checks on raw materials, additives and processing aids
- Assessment of cross-contamination risk on production lines
- Slaughter, storage, transport and labelling practices
- Records of the halal officer and staff training
Certificate and surveillance
The certificate is valid for one year and renewed every year. At least one unannounced visit is made each year. When you change a raw material you must notify us; the product list is updated and added to the certificate.
Certificate scope
The product list attached to the certificate contains information such as product name, brand, place of production and raw material source. Adding a new product may not need an extra audit; notification of the raw material change and an update of the certificate annex may be enough. Rules for using the halal logo on labels are given separately.
Scope of service
- Cross-contamination assessment
- At least one unannounced visit a year
- Product list updates
- Multilingual certificate for export
