CE Marking and Product Conformity Assessment

The CE mark is the manufacturer's declaration that a product meets the essential health, safety and environmental requirements of the relevant EU legislation. For some product groups, an independent body must take part in conformity assessment; for others the manufacturer may CE-mark by its own declaration (Module A).

Our scope

• Identification of applicable legislation (machinery, low voltage, EMC, pressure equipment, construction products)
• Review of the technical file and risk analysis
• Evaluation of production control and type-test documentation
• The manufacturer's declaration of conformity and marking rules

For products that require mandatory third-party approval, we refer you to authorised Notified Bodies. At application we clarify together which module your product falls under.

Duration and output

It takes three to six weeks depending on the project scope. At the end a written conformity report listing gaps is sent, and a technical file checklist once corrections are completed. We note that the report is not a binding CE certificate and that the manufacturer's responsibility continues.
